The Olympics are always a monumental event, but Paris 2024 set new standards not just in athletic achievement but in the scale and complexity of its broadcast and media operations.
At Yuzzit, we had the privilege of working on two distinct contracts, each with its own unique objectives, underscoring the diverse needs of such an event.
Our first mission focused on the Opening Ceremony, where we were tasked with managing the intricate operation of capturing 217 simultaneous live video streams from smartphones. The challenge was immense—ensuring that every moment was broadcast-quality and delivered in real-time despite the scale and open-air conditions.
The second challenge involved the Press Conferences, where we were responsible for the seamless delivery of over 500 conferences, each available in six languages. This project aimed to provide global media outlets with immediate, multilingual access to the event's key moments, ensuring that the stories of the Olympics reached audiences worldwide with clarity and impact.
These two distinct objectives required tailored solutions, showcasing Yuzzit’s ability to adapt and excel under varying circumstances.
For the Paris 2024 opening ceremony, Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) sought to push back the boundaries of traditional broadcasting by capturing unprecedented angles of the event. They installed nearly 250 smartphones on the boats of the various national delegations, tasked with broadcasting live athlete reactions as they made their way along the Seine.
This innovative approach required a robust and flexible solution to manage simultaneous streams while guaranteeing real-time broadcast quality. That's where Yuzzit came in. Our platform managed 217 live video streams, enabling OBS to focus on delivering the overall viewing experience.
Yuzzit's technology also enabled broadcasters to instantly clip and share these unique angles across TV channels and social networks, ensuring that the dynamic energy of the ceremony reached a global audience without delay.
The role of the media at the Olympic Games cannot be underestimated. Journalists and broadcasters are the link between the event and the countries, sharing stories that inspire and unite.
Yuzzit played an important role in ensuring the live broadcast and replay of over 500 press conferences in 6 languages, an effort backed up by over 18 months of meticulous preparation.
And so Yuzzit’s technology enabled real-time distribution, ensuring that every press conference was available to media outlets globally without delay. Whether it was a post-event analysis or a pivotal announcement, our platform ensured that these moments were captured, translated, and delivered across multiple languages, empowering the media to cover the games comprehensively.
While Yuzzit’s contributions to the Paris 2024 Olympics were important for broadcasters and media outlets, our platform also played a role in supporting various organizations that ensured the event's success.
OBS: The Olympic Broadcasting Services relied on Yuzzit to manage the smartphone video feeds for the grand opening ceremony, ensuring that every angle was captured and every moment was broadcasted flawlessly.
Additionally, Yuzzit was instrumental in handling the multilingual aspects of press conferences, allowing global media to deliver content in six different languages seamlessly.
Orange Events: As a key technology partner, Orange Events used Yuzzit's capabilities to maintain and manage the vast network of live streams and data transfers required for an event of this scale. Their reliance in our platform underlined its robustness and reliability in high-pressure environments.
L'Équipe: one of France's leading sports media, used Yuzzit to clip and distribute highlights on social networks in real time, allowing sports fans to engage with the games as they unfolded, with no moment missed.
Gendarmerie: Beyond the excitement of the games, the safety of millions of spectators and participants was a top priority. The Gendarmerie used Yuzzit to monitor and manage security operations across Paris.
L'Élysée: The French government, represented by the Élysée, also used the Yuzzit platform to amplify France's role as host nation. Thanks to Yuzzit, the Élysée was able to strengthen its communications efforts, ensuring that France's leadership and cultural heritage were highlighted throughout the games.
Each of these organizations used Yuzzit in a unique way, highlighting the platform's versatility in managing complex operations at global events.
